Shintaro Ban was tied with Eric Grimberg, a St. Mary’s College student, and Craig Kilcoyne from Concord as they went into the final hole.
Ban’s birdie gave him a 147 score for 36 holes, a stroke better than Grimberg and Kilcoyne.
The win by the high school student came a year after he finished in second place in the same tournament.
Mark Miller of Antioch shot a 76 on both 18-hole rounds to capture the senior division title.
Miller’s 152 total was one stroke better than the two runners-up, Jeff Goltz of Tracy and Ken Noonan of Pleasanton.
Handicap champion was Rick Gitmed, a Modesto resident and member of the local club.
Gitmed holds a seven handicap and shot rounds of 66 and 71 to post a 137 net total, 10 strokes better than runner-up Matt Perdue of Tracy. Andy Upton, also of Tracy, came in third with a 148.
In all, 53 golfers participated in the tournament, according to Shawn McCarty, TGCC pro.
