After running on the 5K cross-country trail along the San Joaquin River, participants can choose to take a detour into one of the resort’s two manmade lakes, similar to New Year’s Day traditions in colder climates.
However, folks at Eagal Lakes won’t have to break through a sheet of ice to reach the water.
Eagal expects about 100 people will sign up. She said registration has been light so far compared with the 600 to 800 participants in summertime mud runs at Eagal Lakes this year.
About 100 people took part in the inaugural event in 2012.
Check-in is at 10 a.m., and the race begins at 11 a.m. Cost is $35.
Eagal Lakes is at 12 Lorenzen Road, off Koster Road.
