This week’s Remember When “mystery photo,” top left, shows a local band in December 1984. What was the name of the band, and who were its members?

A number of people remember Rudy Kalcsics, who was shown in last week’s Remember When “mystery photo,” bottom left, demonstrating baking techniques in March 1973 to students visiting Old Mission Bakery on West 10th Street.

Rudolph “Rudy” Kalcsics learned baking skills in his native Hungary and came to the United States in 1936. He and his wife, Marion, operated Old Mission Bakery for 42 years, from 1941 to 1983. Rudy Kalcsics died in December 1986 at the age of 75. His wife died in November 2007.

Among those identifying Kalcsics in the photo were Gussie Owen, Terry Brown, Joe Terra, Jo Foley, Gabby Vierra Borges, Ray Fragoso, Judy Schnabel Miller, Carmen Perez, Joanne Roberts, Sarah Lucero, Marie Patterson and Evelie Grebil.
