Last week’s Remember When “mystery photo,” bottom left, shows Hagstrom’s Food Market, which was opened in 1952 at the northwest corner of 10th and B streets. The building remained a food market under several different names, including U.S. Market, until the 1980s, when it was remodeled to become the main Tracy office of Bank of America.
Several Tracyites, including Evelie Grebil, Charlotte Tyner, Chicho Ojeda and Bill Miller, identified the store and its location. In fact, Miller recalled working at Hagstrom’s from 1955 to 1957, when the store was managed by Bob Covington. He remembered all of the store’s employees of that era.
Several responders mistook the location to be at 11th and Parker, where Mayfair Market was located and where In-Shape City is today.
