Today’s Remember When mystery photo shows four volunteer chefs preparing food in January 1999 for a local fraternal organization. Who are the chefs, what was the occasion and what was the organization?

Last week’s Remember When mystery photos, below left, show two of the Douglas brothers, Craig and Lindsey, while serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

For a time, both brothers were butchers and operated a butcher shop on Central Avenue in the location that later became the Old Douglas Market restaurant and bar.

Both Lindsey and Craig, and a third brother, Hunter Douglas, are now deceased.
