Last week’s Remember When mystery photo, above left, showed a group of Tracy firefighters standing in front of a fire engine at a public showing of equipment. Left to right: Lt. Jimmy Wheat and firemen-engineers Ron Van Hagen, Danny Grebil, Alberto Amezquita and Jeff Mason.

Grebil, who is now chief of the Scotts Valley Fire District in Santa Cruz County, identified those in the photo.

The only person on C Shift missing from the photo was Capt. Bill Robinson. The truck was Snorkel 1, the 1969 Crown/Pitman 85-foot elevated platform, Grebil reported. The photo was taken in 1983 or 1984, he said.

Also identifying those in the photo were Grebil’s mother, Evelie Grebil of Tracy; Cynthia Van Hagen San Julian of Tracy, whose father was the late Ron Van Hagen; and Van Hagen’s widow, Jacqueline.

Today’s mystery photo, above right shows a Tracy Boy Scout who had just become an Eagle Scout. What is his name, when was the photo taken, and what is he doing these days?
