Last week’s Remember When photo, at top, shows Antonio Morelos, a longtime Southern Pacific employee, lounging in a chair given to him on his retirement at the age of 70 as a head storekeeper for the S.P.
He and his wife, Francisca, came to Tracy in 1919. Morelos, who has children, grandchildren and great-children living in Tracy, worked in the S.P. Stores Department in the Tracy shops for more than two decades. He was among the original donors to construct Tracy Community Memorial Hospital in 1948.
Identifying him the photo were son George Morelos, grandchildren Ray Morelos, Esther Kelley and Letitia Garcia Bunella and great-grandchildren Alexandria Cruz, Elsa Rodriguez and Louie Romo.
