Tracy police received 162 calls for service Thursday, May 3. The following is a sample of those calls.
5:28 a.m.: A woman told police her friends took her purse and now she has an erroneous charge on her credit card on the 600 block of Forest Hills Drive. She said he left her purse in a friends car and they left while they were at a party in Oakland. She was advised to contact Oakland police.
7:27 a.m.: Police issued a warning to someone going through trash cans near Whittier Avenue and Wall Street.
8:21 a.m.: A resident made an online report for a vehicle burglary at the West Valley Mall at 3200 Naglee Road.
8:26 a.m.: A resident made an online report for a vehicle burglary at the Black Bear Diner, 2351 Toste Road.
9:33 a.m.: A student at Tracy High School told police someone was making false statements about her on Facebook. She was advised that the school resource officer will also look into it. She said she already contacted Facebook for an internal investigation.
10:15 a.m.: A store clerk called to report two women got their nails done at Ultra Nails, 2451 Naglee Road, and fled without paying.
10:38 a.m.: A garage was broken into on the 700 block of Palm Circle.
11:40 a.m.: Someone keeps getting into Hair Trend, 2310 East St., and damaging items inside, the owners said.
12:55 a.m.: A restaurant clerk called to report a boy who was about 10 years old entered Nations, 3574 N. Tracy Blvd., and asked if he could wash windows to earn money. He said the child looked too young to be panhandling. The boy was gone before police arrived.
1:43 p.m.: A woman on the 200 block of Ramona Way told police she was contacted by someone via mail that told her she won $2 million from Publishers Clearinghouse. She said it instructed her to send $499 via Western Union to claim her prize.
2:35 p.m.: A caller reported finding a backpack containing a car stereo in the bushes at Thoming Park, 1000 Cambridge Place.
4:22 p.m.: Police arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of theft at Sally Beauty Supply, 1240 W. 11th St. A caller said the man stole a pair of electric clippers. He was booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.
5:43 p.m.: A woman told police she had a 4-carat diamond ring stolen off of her finger at Covey’s Sports Grill, 2712 Naglee Road.
6:32 p.m.: Several children were seen video-taping a fake fight at Joseph Tiago Park, 1260 Eastlake Circle. He said they were climbing on building and jumping off.
6:42 p.m.: A car reported stolen at West Valley Mall, 3200 Naglee Road, was found in the lot with its stereo missing. Police are investigating.
8:46 p.m.: A Toyota Corolla was reported stolen from Walmart, 3010 W. Grant Line Road. Police are investigating.
9:25 p.m.: Someone broke into a car on the 700 block of East Grant Line Road and stole the stereo.
9:53 p.m.: A caller reported a Toyota Camry was stolen on the 700 block of East Grant Line Road. Police are investigating.
10:40 p.m.: Police warned to a resident for having chickens and ducks in the yard on the 1600 block of Holly Drive.
10:50 p.m.: Police arrested a 47-year-old man following a traffic stop near 11th Street and Crossroads Drive. He was arrested on a drug-related charge and booked into county jail.
