Police Log: Man in pirate garb drives by school

A shirtless man wearing a pirate hat was seen driving a white minivan near Hirsch Elementary School at 1280 Dove Drive at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24. The caller said the man was trying to talk to children in the area. Police checked, but did not locate the driver.

Tracy police received 154 calls for service Wednesday, April 24. The following is a sample of those calls.

1:39 p.m.: A woman reported a man who was wearing a ski mask and camouflage while riding a bicycle near Peony Drive and Tropaz Lane. Police found it was a child playing on a bicycle.

3:03 p.m.: Police arrested three men, ages 20, 21 and 23, at Walmart, 3010 W. Grant Line Road, for alleged theft. The arrest occurred after a store clerk reported seeing a man take clothing out of his pants after he walked out of the store.

5:36 p.m.: A man told police he noticed items missing from his house on the 300 block of West Emerson Ave.

11:23 p.m.: A man told police he saw the arm of someone reaching into his second-story bathroom window on the 600 block of Natalie Lane. He said the person ran away and jumped his backyard fence.

Should have read: Mom who believes in making education fun for kids dressed as Paul Revere and took her kids to school on Wednesday. She is so loved that children and adults gathered round to embrace her enthusiasm.

A white ruffle long-sleeve shirt, one black eye patch and an old oak chest full of gold doubloons is being held down at Tracy Police Headquarters for the owner to come forward and identify the contents.

Animal Control was called to pick-up one green hicupping parrot, singing, 'Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum'.
