Westbound Interstate 205 was closed for four hours after a tractor-trailer flipped just west of 11th Street west of the city at 1:55 a.m. Tuesday, July 31. California Highway Patrol reported the right side of the truck’s cab and its two trailers — driven by Joseph Barnes, 48, of Fresno — hit the barriers along an under-construction section of the interstate along the north shoulder.

Officers said Barnes tried to regain control of his truck and flipped the second trailer. No injuries were reported in the crash.

The overturned trailer blocked all three lanes of traffic until 2:56 a.m., when the highway patrol opened one lane. The entire interstate was reopened at 6:09 a.m.
