Police were unable to locate a man suspected of burglarizing a Tracy business on Monday, April 22.

Officers tried to a stop a Latino man around 12:45 a.m. in the area of Larch Road and Holly Drive, but the man jumped off his bicycle and began to run.

The man jumped several fences and was suspected of hiding on the roof of an office complex in the area. However, a search of the roof for the man using a fire department ladder truck was unsuccessful.

Police located an unidentified business that the man was believed to have burglarized. A back window was found broken and a $40 shredder was missing, the police log states.

A bicycle believed to have belonged to the man was taken as evidence.

Tracy police received 177 calls for service Monday, April 24. The following is a sample of those calls.

7:36 a.m.: Officers responded to Freiler Elementary School, 2421 W. Lowell Ave., where a parent reported an older man was sitting on a bike rack talking to children. The man was dropping off his granddaughter at the school.

10:50 a.m.: Administrators at Kimball High School, 3200 Jaguar Run, reported a security guard was struck in the chest while breaking up a fight between two students. He wasn’t injured, and declined to press charges against the student who allegedly struck him.

3:17 p.m.: Police arrested a person at Motel 6, 3810 N. Tracy Blvd., who was not supposed to be inside of a room. The person had an outstanding warrant and was charged with a new offense of possessing a controlled substance. No further details about the person were available in the log.

• This column includes a sample of items as reported in the Tracy Police Department dispatcher’s daily log. Additional information is based on reports from officers and other law enforcement agencies. Charges may have been added or dropped as of press time, and all suspects are assumed innocent until proven guilty. To report information anonymously about a crime: Crime Stoppers, 831-6847.

Thank you, Mechanicswifey. Someone needed to say something. As a pasty white guy engaged to the most beautiful African American woman I've ever met, this "gentleman's" posts offend me every time I read them. PublicCitizen, no words any of us will tell you will ever change your mind, but I will pray for you, and for your children (if you have any), that they don't grow up to follow in your closed-minded racist ways.

Perhaps enough public ridicule over your wildly inappropriate tripe will force you to crawl back under the rock from whence you came. Good evening to you, sir/madam.

"Anyone wanting to dispose of documents can bring..."

Update!

Look for a guy wanting to trade a shredder for a bicycle;)
