Tahoe, a 10-pound Chihuahua, is a smart, loving pet that would fit in almost any home. She likes being around people and other small dogs and knows many tricks, including dancing and acting “embarrassed.” At 9 years old, Tahoe is in good health. She is housetrained, spayed, micro-chipped and current on vaccines, and her teeth have been maintained. Because she is middle-aged for a Chihuahua, Tahoe has a significantly reduced adoption fee. Animal Rescue of Tracy is a nonprofit, all-volunteer rescue group that has pet adoption fairs for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays in the Macy’s wing of the West Valley Mall, 3200 Naglee Road. The group is looking for foster families for cats or dogs, for one to six months. Expenses are paid by the rescue. For information: 642-4324 or www.animalrescuetracy.org.
East of Eden
Nala, a sweet-tempered 4-month-old puppy, is a ready learner and knows “sit,” “stay” and “come” commands. Rescue volunteers are training her to walk on a leash. Nala will be up for adoption at Petco, 2888 Grant Line Road, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. East of Eden is a nonprofit animal rescue organization. For information: 815-5186 or www.eoerescue.org.
At the Shelter
Sunshine, a 2-year-old spayed orange tabby, is at the Tracy Animal Shelter and needs a home. The staff is seeking donations of dry cat food, canned food for dogs and cats, dog toys, flea shampoo and puppy and kitten formula. The shelter, 370 Arbor Road, is open from noon to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For information: 831-6364 or “City of Tracy Animal Services” on Facebook.
