Services will be Saturday for Nigel Ethan Nool, 15, a Tracy native and lifelong local resident, who died early Sunday morning.

Born May 22, 1998, Nigel was diagnosed in 2005 with a rare mitochondrial disorder, Kearnes-Sayre syndrome, which caused vision and hearing loss, muscle weakness, diabetes, heart problems and other symptoms.

Nigel attended Montessori preschool in Tracy, West Valley Christian Academy, Jacobson Elementary School and Kelly School.

He is survived by his parents, Dr. Helene Novesteras-Nool and John Nool, and two brothers, Justin Nool and Ian Nool, all of Tracy.

Services on Saturday will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Tracy, 1610 East St. Visitation will be observed from 2 to 10 p.m. today at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. An online guest book can be accessed at
