Learning center fundraiser

This month’s Wacky Wallet Wednesday Fundraiser will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Chevy’s, 2770 Naglee Road.

Chevy’s will give back 25 percent of all food sales, including takeout orders, to Tracy Learning Center. The school includes Primary Charter, Discovery Charter and Millennium High schools. 

Fundraiser to help kids in Africa

West High School students trying to help children in war-torn Africa will host a Scoop Night fundraiser from 5 to 8 tonight at Cold Stone Creamery, 1859 W. 11th St.

Part of the proceeds from customers who take in “Invisible Children” coupons will go directly to children in the central African country of Uganda.

South Side group meets

The South Side Community Organization will have its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. today at the Guadalupe Center, 126 W. First St. The group will elect officers.

Seasonal coat drive begins

Century 21 M&M Real Estate will host a coat drive for children through Dec. 18 at 912 W. 11th St.

Talent show, supper planned

The Seventh-day Adventist Church will host its annual Talent Show and Supper at 6 p.m. today at 2025 Holly Drive. The meal will be served at 6 p.m., followed by the talent show. Both the meal and the show are free.

Clothing drive to help a child

A “Because of Marcus” clothing drive will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Planned Parenthood, 1441 N. Tracy Blvd., to help a Tracy woman help a needy child.

Woman’s Club dreams on

The GFWC Tracy Woman’s Club will meet at 11 a.m. Friday at the Tracy Elks Lodge. The program will feature “The Dreamers” from Stagebridge Productions of Oakland.

Toastmasters meet

Tracy Toastmasters will host a special meeting for its members and to attract newcomers.

The meeting will take place between 7 and 8:30 a.m. Friday at Perko’s Café, 1321 W. 11th St.

Coffee or breakfast will be served, and attendees can hear beginning and advanced speakers and skill evaluations. Impromptu table topics are expected to be lively.

Fundraiser to help rescue animals

East of Eden Animal Rescue will sponsor a fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Baja Fresh, 1875 W. 11th St.

Any time a customer shows a flier for the group, Baja Fresh will donate 15 percent of its profit from the purchase to East of Eden Medical Fund.

Society serves dinner

The Tracy Auxiliary of the Children’s Home Society will serve polenta and sausage stew at a dinner scheduled to take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Tracy Moose Lodge, 35 E. Sixth St.

Takeout dinners are available. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Travel club looks to New Zealand

The Big Valley Travel Club has seats available for its trip Feb. 7 through March 12 to New Zealand.
