Wais Martial Arts Academy of Tracy had students participate in several major regional tae kwon do events in May, including the 2012 Golden State Taekwondo Championship in Vallejo on May 19.

Wais Martial Arts earned the Best School award for having the most participants earning medals at the event, all of them being either first or second place.

Also Saturday, May 19, and Sunday, May 20, Darrell Cenido competed at the 2012 USA Taekwondo National Qualification Tournament in San Jose and won second place. He is now preparing for nationals.

On May 12, Lelani Cano, 8, represented Wais Martial Arts at the annual AAU California State Championships in San Francisco. She competed in forms and board breaking and received medals for her achievements.
