Services will be May 3 for Margie “Lorene” Wallis, 82, a Tracy resident for 59 years, who died Wednesday in Ripon.

A native of Shawnee, Okla., Mrs. Wallis was born Dec. 25, 1931, and was a homemaker for 66 years. She served on the PTA and as a Cub Scout den mother when her children were young, and she was a former member of Center of Hope Church, The Tracy Twirlers and Floor Sanders square dance groups and Denny’s Breakfast Club of Tracy. She was also a 36-year survivor of breast cancer.

Mrs. Wallis is survived by two daughters, Shirley Mae Davis of Modesto and Carol Wallis-Iascone, and her husband, Joseph Iascone, of Ripon; a son, Charles David Wallis, and his wife, Olga “Pinky,” Wallis, of Tracy; a sister, Mildred “Louella” Fansler, and her husband, Bill, of Tracy; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 60 years, Luther “Lou” Wallis, who died in 2008; and two sisters, Mary “Lucille” Brand and Lona Mae Crider.

Memorial services will begin at 10:30 a.m. May 3 at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave. Inurnment will be private.
