Board members met with recruiter Phil McKenney of Peckham & McKenney in Sacramento in the office of interim General Manager Richard Ramirez to iron out the process for finding a permanent manager.
Before the meeting, Ramirez said the closed session was to discuss the marketing strategy to choose a new manager and review the steps for the search.
Ramirez said there were no formal applications submitted for the job, said the recruiter was reviewing a pool of candidates. He said they would likely make a job offer to someone in April.
After two hours, attorney Daniel Schroeder reported in open session that the board took no reportable actions in closed session.
Board members were unwilling to discuss what occurred, though, Ramirez and Director Steve Gutierrez called the mood of the meeting “positive.”
Gutierrez said the discussion was a team building workshop among the board members, and that the process would be more transparent moving forward.
