A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 9, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church for Kathryn McCleary, 85, a Tracy native who had been a longtime executive secretary in San Francisco.

She died July 19 at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital.

Miss McCleary was born July 23, 1926, and graduated in 1944 from Tracy High School.

She moved to San Francisco, where she was an executive secretary with Standard Oil Co. of California — now Chevron — for 40 years before retiring in 1992 and returning to Tracy to live with her sister, Margaret Mandish.

Miss McCleary was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include a sister, Margaret Mandish of Tracy, and three nieces and four nephews.

Preceding her in death was a brother, John McCleary.

The Aug. 9 services will begin at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., where a memorial Mass will be said. Interment will be in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road.

Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is handling arrangements.

The family prefers memorial contributions in Miss McCleary’s name be made to the Ministry of Caring, St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., Tracy, CA 95376.
