Left-handed pitcher Wesely — a top Major League Baseball draft prospect who has also been accepted to the University of California, Los Angeles — is the SJAA pitcher of the year for the third year in a row.

Jaeger went 9-5 for the year, had a .32 earned run average over 88 innings and struck out 103 batters. Jaeger also led the Bulldogs at the plate with a .395 batting average and had 34 base hits and 19 RBIs.

Wesely went 6-3 for the year with an earned run average of .98 over 64 innings. He struck out 110 batters, including 18 batters in a no-hitter against Chavez on April 17. He had a .329 batting average.

Also among the top local players this year was Kimball High senior catcher Zack Perugi, who was named the Valley Oak League offensive player of the year. He finished the season with a .512 batting average, a .651 slugging percentage and 18 RBIs. Perugi is the Jaguar team MVP.
