West High grad continues Air Force medical training

U.S Air Force Airman Frankie Placeres Jr., a 2011 graduate of West High School, recently graduated from basic military training as an “Element Leader” at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Placeres completed eight weeks of intensive training in military discipline and values, physical fitness and warfare.

In January, he moved to Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, to complete his training in the medical field as an E-2 airman.

He is the son of Frank and Frances Placeres of Tracy and the brother of Vanessa and Monica Placeres.

Local airman completes basic training

Another member of West High School’s Class of 2011, Airman Justin M. Manyvanh, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base.

He is the son of Sandee and Bounleun Manyvanh of Tracy.
