Eagal Lakes in Tracy hosted a free kids mud run Saturday, May 12, at its resort alongside the San Joaquin River.

About 600 children negotiated a 400-meter obstacle course that took them through mud pits, over hay bales and tires, and through tunnels, and then into the lakes to clean off after the race.

The resort partnered with Healthy Fit Families and Recon Run to host the event, which encourages fun exercise for kids.

Volunteers from Tracy Futbol Club’s Triumph and Crossfire girls team volunteered to supervise the course, as did Millennium High’s Leadership club, the Kimball High cross country team and the Modesto Junior College track and field team.
