Tracy residents are invited to join a new initiative at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts on Friday, Aug. 9 that promotes community participation and interest at the center.

The Grand Foundation, the fundraising entity for the Grand, is hosting a membership program gathering from 6:30 to 9 p.m. to encourage people to help support the center, according to Judy Daily, executive director of the foundation.

Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

“It’s going to be a very interactive meeting to give people a sense of the exciting programs we have happening at the Grand,” she said. “There will be a lot of hands-on things happening.”

Membership rates range from $50 to $1,000. Member perks include discounted rates and early purchase options for all musical acts and instructional classes and programs, Daily said.

Joining the members club is tax deductible.

“We really hope that the community embraces the idea,” Daily said. “That opens us up to more interesting and fantastic classes and programs at the Grand.”

Anyone interested in attending membership event should RSVP by calling 835-3900 or emailing jd.grandfoundation@att.net.

Those in attendance will have the opportunity to purchase advanced tickets to the Grand’s upcoming concerts this fall.
