Services were Thursday, Feb. 7, for Evaristo Hernandez, a 50-year Tracy resident, who died Jan. 31 at his home. He was 84.

Mr. Hernandez was born Oct. 22, 1928, in Mexico. He retired in 1991 after 40 years as a field worker throughout the Central Valley.

Survivors include eight children, Jose L. Hernandez, Juan Hernandez, Jose O. Hernandez, Maricela Nelmida, Maribel Pina, Juanita Hernandez, Elizabeth Martinez and Thomas Hernandez, all of Tracy; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 45 years, Estela Hernandez, who died in 1998; a brother; and a sister.

Arrangements were handled by Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave. Burial was in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road.
