Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 21, for Edward H. Derby, 77, a lifelong resident of Tracy, who died Aug. 15 at his home.

Mr. Derby was born in Tracy on Aug. 1, 1936, and attended Midway Grammar School, French Camp School and Manteca High School. He served in the Navy for four years and was honorably discharged. Mr. Derby later worked various jobs, including 20 years at Laura Scudders in Tracy.

Survivors include a son, David Derby of Sun Valley, Nev.; three siblings, Liz Costa, and her husband, Nelson, of Tracy, Earl Derby, and his wife, Mary, of Lodi and Don Derby, and his wife, Tina Pettit, of French Camp; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Harold Derby and Alice Cuasito; a son, Eddie Derby; and two sisters, Hazel Derby and Alice Mae Newman.

Arrangements were handled by Park View Funeral Home, 3661 French Camp Road, in Manteca

Contributions in Mr. Derby’s name may be sent to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95204; or to the American Cancer Society, 207 E. Alpine Ave., Stockton, CA 95204.
