According to a CHP officer at the scene, a gravel truck and a white Nissan Altima were both traveling west on Blewett Road when the gravel truck made a left turn into the driveway of Knife River Construction.
The Altima crashed into the side of the truck sending both vehicles onto the shoulder of the road.
Crews from a nearby construction site who came to the crash scene said the driver got out of the car bleeding from his head. The workers said the unidentified driver then ran north into an almond orchard.

A tuft of hair could be seen hanging from a crack in the windshield.
As of 4 p.m. officers had not located the driver.
