Services will be May 16 for Donald A. Cooper, 55, a former employee at Tracy’s H.J. Heinz Co. factory, who died of cancer April 1 in Hughson.

Mr. Cooper was born June 29, 1958, in Los Angeles and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea. He lived in Tracy and worked at the local Heinz factory before its closure. Mr. Cooper moved to Modesto about six years ago and moved back to Tracy during his last illness.

Survivors include his daughter, Madison McClain of Modesto; his parents, Ruby and Everett Jones of Tracy; three siblings, Virginia Skelton, and her husband, Jeff, and Daniel Jones, and his wife, Tina, all of Tracy, and Shelly Paler, and her husband, Rick, of Long Beach; one grandchild; nine nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will begin at 2:30 p.m. May 16 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Road, in Santa Nella. Eaton Family Funeral and Cremation Service of Modesto, www.eatonfamilyfuneral.com, is handling arrangements.
