Clyde Loren Foster

All services will be private for longtime Tracy resident Clyde Loren Foster, 66, who died Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton.

Born Oct. 1, 1943, in Oakland, Mr. Foster lived in Tracy for 60 years. He worked as a warehouseman at Sharpe Army Depot for 13 years. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1968 and as an officers’ waiter in the Merchant Marines for 10 years.

Mr. Foster collected stamps and liked all kinds of music. He loved prospecting in Nevada with his parents and playing the role of Santa Claus for his nieces and nephews. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mr. Foster is survived by his brothers, Arlen Foster, and his wife, Betty, of Concord and Marvin Foster, and his wife, Lorraine, of Tracy; and eight nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Nagel; and his companion, Gail Kokales.

Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave, is handling arrangements. Burial will be in Tracy Cemetery, 600 E. Schulte Road.
