Special recognition will be given to Louie Romo and Walter and Mercedes Gouveia for their contributions to the organization.
Members of the Nuestra Herencia Mexicana Ballet Folklorico will perform.

Legion to honor safety workers
The annual Law and Order Night dinner honoring local public-safety officers is scheduled for Feb. 9, a Saturday.
The dinner, sponsored by James McDermott Post, American Legion, will be held at the Legion Hall, 1960 Tracy Blvd., said John Treantos, post commander.
During the dinner, recognition will be given to officers from the Tracy Police Department, Tracy Fire Department, San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin police and fire departments and Deuel Vocational Institution, Treantos said.
The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets, $10 per person, will be available at the door Feb. 9.
YLI jubilee weekend arrives
Members of the Young Ladies Institute will make their Golden Jubilee Burse Presentation to Monsignor Ivo Rocha during the 11 a.m. Mass on Saturday, Feb. 2, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave.
The gift will support young seminarians.
Lunch will follow in the church’s large hall for those who have made reservations.
Because Feb. 13 is Ash Wednesday, the next meeting of YLI has been rescheduled to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6.
The organization’s annual Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. March 3, and most YLI members plan to purchase breakfast at the church hall, served by Knights of Columbus.
The regular March meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. March 20.
History group announces scholarship
Two scholarships for local high school seniors will be awarded this spring by the West Side Pioneer Association.
The awards, $500 each, will go to 2013 graduates of Tracy Unified School District high schools — one for someone headed to junior college and one bound for a four-year university.
Applicants must have shown some involvement in local history, whether by completing a research paper or project or through volunteer work at the Tracy Historical Museum.
Applications are due March 31 and can be obtained through high school counseling offices and from the museum, 1141 Adam St.
