Funeral services will be Friday, May 31, for Clive D. Royal, 74, of Tracy, who died May 22 in Stockton.

Mr. Royal, known as “Big Dan,” was born Feb. 22, 1939, in Littlefield, Texas, to Alice and Clive F. Royal and moved with his family to Merced as a child.

Following his graduation from Merced High School in 1958, he served two yea rs in the U.S. Navy. He and his wife, Elaine Royal, adopted two boys.

In his working life, Mr. Royal sold household items, worked at a dairy and was a delivery driver, sales manager and supervisor for Kilpatrick’s Bakeries in the Bay Area. He retired in 1993.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Royal, and his wife, Christina, and Mark Royal, all of Tracy; four sisters; a brother; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. Visitation will precede the service at 9 a.m. Burial will be private with military honors. A guest book can be viewed at www.frymemorialchapel.com.
