Services will be Wednesday, April 24, for Charles Johnson Jr., a former Tracy resident and U.S. Army veteran, who died April 11 at his home in Lathrop. He was 68.

Mr. Johnson was born Dec. 24, 1944, in New Orleans. He served 25 years in the Army, reaching the rank of sergeant E6. He had lived in Lathrop the past 25 years and previously lived in Tracy for five years.

Survivors include a daughter, Christa Johnson of Pittsburg; mother, Theodora Johnson of Tracy; seven siblings, Carmel Jones, and her husband, Bernard, Donna Goltz, and her husband, Kenneth, and Grace Johnson, all of Oakland, Dane Michael Johnson of Maryland, Josette Dawson of Las Vegas, Gwendolyn Marie Johnson of Tracy and Ken Johnson of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his father, Charles Johnson Sr., a son, Ulric Patrick Johnson; and four sisters, Judith Ann McDonald, Karen Johnson and twins Rose and Crystal Johnson.

Funeral services on Wednesday will begin at 10 a.m. at Good News Missionary Baptist Church, 77 W. First St. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, in Dixon.
