The Dragons went 5-5 in their third season and 4-2 in the Mountain Valley League.
Dragons starting pitcher Clark Muniz worked four innings and gave up six runs, one of them earned, on four hits and he struck out eight batters from Mountain Oaks (2-8 overall, 2-4 MVL).
Justin Rudnick pitched two and gave up one earned run on three hits and struck out five batters for the win. Darren Silva pitched the final inning and struck out two batters.
Muniz also led the way at the plate with a triple and three RBIs and scored twice. Andrew Silva had a hit and two RBIs, two steals and scored twice; Darren Silva had a hit and scored two runs; and Tyler Daugherty had a hit, one RBI and scored twice.
Next up for the Dragons will be the Sac-Joaquin Section Division VII playoffs at McAuliffe Memorial Ballparks in Sacramento.
They will face Elliot Christian at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, in the first round.
Millennium 7, Elliot Christian 5
The Falcons grabbed a share of their first league title in the six-year history of the team with a win over Elliot Christian in Lodi on Friday, May 4.
Both teams finish the Central California Athletic Alliance season at 9-1, Millennium at 17-6 overall and Elliot 15-7 overall.
The Falcons came back from a 4-3 deficit in the bottom of the sixth inning as they rallied for four runs to take a 7-4 lead. Elliot scored just one run in its last chance in the bottom of the seventh.
Austin Larson pitched all seven innings for the Falcons and gave up five runs, four of them earned, on 12 hits. Larson struck out five batters.
He also led the Falcons at the plate, starting with a two-run homer in the top of the first to get Millennium on the scoreboard. Larson had two more hits for the day.
Daniel Yanez, Drew Carroll and Tanner Carroll also had two hits each and each drove in a run, and Spencer Blackwell doubled.
Next up for the Falcons will be the Sac-Joaquin Section Division VII playoffs at McAuliffe Memorial Ballparks in Sacramento. They will face Faith Christian at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, in the first round.
