Services will be Saturday, April 20, for Audrey Jeannette Donaldson Detmer, 87, of Patterson, who worked out of the Tracy Defense Depot during World War II. She died Feb. 5 at her home.

Mrs. Detmer, born in Alameda on July 9, 1925, met her future husband while shuttling officers in the Army Motor Pool out of the defense depot. She was involved in church and community organizations in Pleasant Hill and Patterson. She was also the aunt of local clown Miss Sparkles Delight, Terry Donaldson.

Survivors include her sons, Mel Detmer Jr., and his wife, Susan, of Chico, Rod Detmer, and his wife, Veeve, of Clayton and adopted son Tom Ferrera, and his wife, Pam, of Danville; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two nieces.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 65 years, Mel Detmer; parents, H. Harris and Mazie Donaldson; and brother, Harris Donaldson.

A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Federated Church, 45 S. El Circulo, in Patterson. Hillview Funeral Chapel of Patterson, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., is handling arrangements. Contributions may be sent to the Federated Church, 45 S. El Circulo, Patterson, CA 95363.
