The tour’s new configuration has the race starting in Escondido, just north of San Diego, on May 12. The route works its way north and finishes with the San Francisco to Santa Rosa stage on May 19.
The ride up Mount Diablo is Stage 7 of the eight-stage event. Riders will start in Livermore and finish at the 3,849-foot summit. Specific details about the Stage 7 route were not available Thursday, Nov. 29.
