A prayer service is planned Thursday, Feb. 28, for Alfred M. Garcia, 87, of Tracy, a self-employed house painter, who died Friday, Feb. 22, at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital.

Mr. Garcia was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Durango, Mexico, and lived in Tracy 62 years. He painted homes throughout Tracy and the surrounding area.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jeanne Garcia of Tracy; three sons, Roger Garcia, and his wife, Mailo, of Los Angeles and Bryan Garcia and Jonny Garcia, and his wife, Sylvia, all of Tracy; three sisters and two brothers, all of Mexico; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The prayer service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
