An elementary school security guard was mistaken for a lookout for thieves. Press staff report

Someone called police at 5:06 a.m. Sunday to report a suspicious-looking man at Traina Elementary School, 4256 Windsong Drive. The caller said that the man looked like some type of “lookout,” and noted that there has been a lot of vandalism at the school lately. Police investigated and found that the man was a hired security guard.

The Tracy Police Department received 647 calls for service Friday, Saturday and Sunday, including the following reports:

n 11:59 a.m.: A man in northeastern Tracy was accused of molesting a 12-year-old girl sometime between January and April. Police took a report.

n 1:30 p.m.: A person told police that an older man in a yellow Jeep Wrangler approached an 11-year-old boy Thursday near Peony and Windsong drives and asked if he wanted a ride. The boy ran away without answering any of the man’s questions.

n 2:06 p.m.: A man on the 200 block of East 20th Street told police that a Toyota Camry with three people pulled up and a bald man with tattoos threw an egg at him.

n 9:26 p.m.: A man on the 800 block of West Clover Road told police that a young man was shining a laser pointer at drivers as they passed by. Police found the man and told him that he could be arrested for brandishing a weapon.

n 7:45 a.m.: A woman on the 1000 block of Candlewood Drive told police that she believes a pest control company planted cockroaches at her house after she declined to hire the company for pest control services.

n 9:58 a.m.: A person on the 2700 block of Herford Lane told police that someone had shot out some car windows.

n 5:20 p.m.: A woman called police from the Tracy Branch Library, 20 E. Eaton Ave., and said that she was locked inside. She told police that she went to the bathroom and came out to find the lights out, doors locked and everybody gone. Police found someone to let her out.

n 11:01 p.m.: A woman told police that her sister disappeared. The woman was last seen going into the bathroom at Marshall’s, 2481 Naglee Road, about four hours earlier. It turned out that police had found the woman at about 8:30 p.m. after someone at Round Table Pizza, 2511 Naglee Road, reported that a woman who seemed disoriented walked into the restaurant. The woman was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and was booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.

n 11:05 p.m.: Someone at the Masonic Temple, 1601 N. Tracy Blvd., told police that a drunken man was inside the hall throwing chairs at people. Police arrived and arrested the 39-year-old man on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

n 1:40 a.m.: A girl at Trail 50, 650 E. 11th St., told police that she heard someone walking around and on top of her family’s trailer. She said that it sounded like the person was messing with the heater.

n 9:13 p.m.: A person at Eighth Street and Central Avenue told police that a man in front of Westside Market was bleeding from the face and a woman was screaming. Another person called 9-1-1 to report a group of people in a fight. Police arrived, but nobody wanted to press charges.

n Daniel Joseph Heinricy, 24, was arrested at 9:45 a.m. on the 2500 block of Pavilion Parkway on suspicion of drug possession. He was booked into county jail.

n Tangie Lashalle Green, 32, was arrested at 3:37 p.m. on the 2500 block of Naglee Road on suspicion of possession of stolen property, identity theft and theft with prior offenses. She was booked into county jail.

n Valentin Andrade, 62, was arrested at 8:12 p.m. on Central Avenue just north of South Street on suspicion of felony assault. He was booked into county jail.

n Larry Eischen, 58, was arrested at 2:01 a.m. on the 100 block of East Clover Road on suspicion of possession of drugs for sale. He was booked into county jail.

n A 47-year-old man was arrested at 8:05 p.m. in eastern Tracy on suspicion of domestic violence. He was booked into county jail.

FRIDAY

n 7:52 a.m.: A woman on the 1500 block of Gentry Lane told police that someone stole her 1993 Honda Civic. She said that someone also broke into her boyfriend’s car and stole his stereo.

n 8:56 a.m.: A person on the 800 block of Ben Ingram Drive reported that someone stole three tires and rims off a car.

n 9:08 a.m.: Police were asked to help after someone reported a fire at an elderly woman’s house on the 500 block of Mahogany Drive. Animal control officers arrived to take custody of a dog in the backyard.

n 10:12 a.m.: Someone at Traina Elementary School asked police to patrol the neighborhood more often because the school has had problems with skaters, vandals and other trespassers. n 3:02 p.m.: A woman said that a man in a white SUV had been tailgating her near Lammers and Redbridge roads. She said the man told her that he was an off-duty police officer, that he ran her license plate number and was tailgating her so that she would go faster.

n 3:15 p.m.: Police, fire and ambulance crews responded to Peony Drive and Corral Hollow Road after a 1993 Mercedes crashed into a power pole.

n 3:15 p.m.: Someone at West Valley Mall on Naglee Road told police that a 13-year-old girl was lying naked on the floor of the restroom near Target. Police noted that the girl appeared to have inhaled some type of aerosol product. She was taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, given a citation and released to her mother.

n 4:44 p.m.: A person at Tracy Boulevard and Valpico Road told police that a man tried to pull the navigation system out of the caller’s car and also tried to grab the caller’s wallet.

n 5:10 p.m.: Someone from Lifeline told police that a medical alert subscriber on the 300 block of West 11th Street had activated an alarm. Police arrived at the house and found that an 88-year-old woman had fallen in her backyard and possibly had a broken hip.

n 6:25 p.m.: A woman at a motel in central Tracy told police that a man kicked in the door to her room and tried to strangle her. Another caller also reported a man beating up a woman in a room where there were two small children. Police arrived and arrested the man. Details on his arrest were not available Monday

n 10:28 p.m.: Police went to Food Maxx, 3225 N. Tracy Blvd., for a report that a man attacked a woman, pulled her hair and took her jewelry and belongings.

SATURDAY

n 1:18 a.m.: A man on the 1100 block of Tony Stuitt Drive told police that he heard glass break and went outside to see his neighbor’s window broken. He also said that someone in a white Subaru had thrown a bottle at his house about a half-hour earlier.

n 11:31 a.m.: A woman in northern Tracy told police that her friend’s husband tied up her friend with plastic, beat her repeatedly, would not let her go and took all of her money. Police took a report.

n 12:42 p.m.: Someone reported that a car and a bicyclist collided at Windeler Avenue and 11th Street. The bicycle rider apparently suffered a broken ankle.

n 3:35 p.m.: A person on the 2800 block of North Tracy Boulevard told police that someone smashed a car windshield.

n 3:48 p.m.: Someone reported a crash between two big rigs at Grant Line Road and MacArthur Drive. One of the big rigs had to be towed away.

n 10:45 p.m.: Police went to the 100 block of East Grant Line Road in response to a burglary alarm. Police found a broken window at a business but saw no one inside.

n 11:39 p.m.: A man at Pete’s Liquors, 202 W. 11th St., said a drunken woman in a silver Honda crashed into his car and drove away.

SUNDAY

n 9:31 a.m.: A woman on the 1100 block of Valencia Court told police that two of her cars were vandalized sometime during the night.

n 4:17 p.m.: A person on the 1200 block of Fruitwood Way told police that a white BMW just ran onto someone’s lawn and damaged a utility pole. The caller said that three people got out and ran away. Police tried to call the registered owner to see if the car was stolen.

n 6:39 p.m.: A man on the 400 block of West Highland Avenue told police that someone broke into his truck and stole his stereo.

n 8:05 p.m.: A person on the 1600 block of Holly Drive told police that a woman with a kitchen knife threatened to stab the caller’s friends. Police arrested the 51-year-old woman on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and booked her into county jail.
