A man said his father refused to leave a condemned house and was barbecuing inside. Press staff report A man called the police Saturday to report that his father had been barbecuing inside a house on West Seventh Street that’s been slated for demolition. The man’s father had refused to leave the house and “kept inviting homeless” people inside. Adult protective services was scheduled to pick up his father and mother Monday. The Tracy Police Department responded to 616 calls for service Friday, Saturday and Sunday, including the following reports: 12:38 a.m.: A caller reported that a passenger of a car had fired shots in the air while the driver spun doughnuts in the parking lot of a smoothie store on the 2500 block of Naglee Road. 12:57 a.m.: A malfunctioning fire alarm or attendance bell had been buzzing on the West High campus. 3:49 a.m.: A 28-year-old woman on probation had smashed a caller’s apartment window on the 1400 block of Parker Avenue. 6:04 a.m.: A pastor reported that he had heard someone trying to break into a church on the 70 block of East Grant Line Road. 8:20 a.m.: Someone’s car had been broken into on the 1800 block of Lourdes Court. 8:29 a.m.: Somebody had slashed tires on a car on the 1900 block of Silverberry Street. 9:18 a.m.: A caller noticed a car with ignition damage was missing its license plates and gas cap on the 500 block of Central Avenue. 10:45 a.m.: A woman called to report a stolen gun on the 100 block of Yosemite Drive. 11:35 a.m.: A man was arrested after he caused a ruckus over marijuana on the 200 block of East Third Street. 11:44 a.m.: A black Mustang convertible had been stolen from the 2900 block of Sunset Way. 11:45 a.m.: Police received several reports that a handful of homeless people had been walking up to cars in the middle of the street and asking for money at Grant Line Road and Tracy Boulevard. 1:23 p.m.: Two guys were seen sitting in a car doing drugs at Shaw Court and Russell Street. They were gone when police arrived. 2:47 p.m.: A man on Ray Harvey Drive said that his girlfriend had stolen his car and had driven it to Fremont. 4:25 p.m.: About five teenagers were seen smoking pot near the benches in Glover Park on Pescadero Avenue. 5:12 p.m.: A woman reported that five or six boys had been throwing rocks at her house on the 400 block of Gordon Avenue. 5:18 p.m.: A woman in southern Tracy said that her ex-husband’s parents had “kidnapped” her children and told her that they would not return them. 5:23 p.m.: A parent on the 500 block of Covey Lane had received threatening phone calls about a debt the caller’s son owed. 5:58 p.m.: A group of about 20 guys wearing red had been standing at Grant Line Road and Holly Drive and it appeared to the caller that “something is about to happen.” 6:25 p.m.: Five people had been illegally fishing at Eastlake Drive and Eastlake Court. 8:29 p.m.: A woman on the 500 block of Peerless Way called to say that a boy or man had called and threatened to killer her son in front of her, and then kill her. 9:08 p.m.: A woman said that her husband had caught someone trying to break into their neighbor’s house on the 1200 block of Adam Street. 9:32 p.m.: A man was jumped at Holly Drive and Kavanagh Avenue. 11:05 p.m.: A woman said that she had returned home to find her backyard shed burglarized on the 300 block of Fairmont Court. Saturday 3:03 a.m.: A man walked into a fast-food restaurant on the 2300 block of North Tracy Boulevard and had taken a headset from the counter. 7:30 a.m.: A car had been broken into and the stereo had been stolen on the 100 block of East Whittier Avenue. 8:39 a.m.: A woman said that a computer that she was going to return had been stolen from her porch on the 700 block of Saffron Drive. 9:26 a.m.: A woman reported that her neighbor had been throwing leaves over the fence and onto the property on the 200 block of Vivian Court. 12:18 p.m.: A 1988 Nissan pickup was reported stolen at Lowell Avenue and Tracy Boulevard, but it was recovered in El Rancho with moderate front-end damage. 12:19 p.m.: A woman said that she had found a knife in her backyard that didn’t belong to her on the 3200 block of Justin Court. 2:45 p.m.: A group of drunken men had been hanging out in front of a Central Avenue market “being mouthy to passers-by and customers.” 3:22 p.m.: The California Highway Patrol said that an accident that “sounded pretty bad” had taken place at Tracy Boulevard and Eaton Avenue. 3:30 p.m.: Someone reported that a group of boys were about to fight a group of girls at a Naglee Road movie theater. 4:03 p.m.: A man caught trying to steal an overhead projector from St. Bernard’s Catholic School had thrown the projector in the bushes. 4:51 p.m.: Two men, one with a knife, fought in front of a grocery store at Eighth Street and Central Avenue. They were gone when police arrived. 6:37 p.m.: Someone suspects drug dealing in a car hiding behind a church van on the 1700 block of Parker Avenue. 6:55 p.m.: Someone reported that three big dogs had been running loose on the 1100 block of Billy Freeman Lane scaring kids. 10:53 p.m.: A man reported that four or five guys with guns and knives in a car chased his son near a grocery store on the 800 block of South Tracy Boulevard. 11:29 p.m.: Four men in Redbridge had been urinating in people’s bushes at Belmont Court and Handstand Way. Friday 4:34 a.m.: A woman said that someone had slashed her car tires and had broken out windows on the 2200 block of Joseph Damon Drive. 7:10 a.m.: A car had been stolen on the 3000 block of Ormonde Street. 8:32 a.m.: A man said that he had heard voices that told him to kill himself at a department store on Naglee Road. 10:35 a.m.: A woman has been receiving harassing phone calls and text messages, but she found out who it was and later asked to cancel the call. 11:43 a.m.: A woman said that her neighbor had asked her to call the police about a suspected marijuana grow house on the 430 block of West Clover Road. 11:44 a.m.: The rear window of a woman’s car had been taken on the 100 block of West Carleton Way. 12:02 p.m.: A pickup had been stolen from the 2100 block of Mary Alice Way. 12:27 p.m.: About 20 people had been posturing as though they were going to fight in Zanussi Park on Promenade Way. 1:04 p.m.: Someone reported that two boys were fighting inside a fast-food restaurant on the 1900 block of West 11th Street. 1:51 p.m.: Someone reported that a caregiver to a 97-year-old woman had tapped out the woman’s account and used her identification on the 100 block of East Grant Line Road. 1:55 p.m.: A boy at Tracy High School said that he owes people $1,200 and that they were going to come up from Los Angeles to kill him. 1:57 p.m.: Six kids were seen smoking pot in Slayter Park on Suellen Drive. 2:47 p.m.: The catalytic converter had been stolen off a car on the 1300 block of Sequoia Drive. 3:38 p.m.: A girl at Beechnut Avenue and Tracy Boulevard said that three other girls who go to West High School had been following and throwing rocks at her sister. 3:58 p.m.: Three kids were seen rolling marijuana cigarettes in Slayter Park on Suellen Drive. 4:18 p.m.: Police cited someone who spray-painted graffiti on the 400 block of Gordon Way. 5:41 p.m.: A woman said that the man who had stolen her purse and checkbook had cashed one of her checks at a check-cashing store, and her bank wanted to charge her a fee for insufficient funds. 6:30 p.m.: Police were asked to check in central Tracy on someone’s 3-year-old granddaughter, who was in a home with methamphetamine users, including the girl’s mother, who might be on the run from parole. One person had a warrant out for their arrest and was considered armed and dangerous. Police arrested one person. 7:05 p.m.: Police were asked to check on a 9-year-old whose face might have been burned with a cigarette light by her father in western Tracy. 7:30 p.m.: A 20-year-old man had hit his 15-year-old sister in the eye in northern Tracy. 7:43 p.m.: A woman in northern Tracy said that her ex-husband had beaten her again, and she said that she will not drop charges this time. 9:54 p.m.: A truck driver who ducked inside a store on the 3900 block of North Tracy Boulevard for 10 minutes came out to discover his big rig had been totaled. 10:34 p.m.: Someone reported hearing a gunshot when a group of people were standing in the street at East Street and Grant Line Road. 11 p.m.: A woman said that her husband had picked her up and slammed her into the wall in eastern Tracy. 11:12 p.m.: A 14-year-old had been bleeding from his face and ear after being hit by several people who had stolen his cell phone on the 2800 block of Naglee Road. 11:35 p.m.: Someone reported the smell of pot coming from a room at an inn on the 800 block of West Clover Road. Arrests Sunday Shiegfield Espartero, 31, was arrested in Tracy on an outstanding warrant on felony burglary charges. He was booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.
