Police arrested one man Wednesday on suspicion of public drunkenness after a woman reported that her husband held the front door shut on Eighth Street as two guys tried to get in her house.
A woman on the 600 block of Eighth Street called at 11:03
p.m. Wednesday to report two men were trying to enter her house through the
front door while her husband was trying to hold it closed.
The men were trying to turn the locked handle and knocking
on the door. After unsuccessful attempts to enter the house, the men sat down
in front of the door, where police arrested one on suspicion of public
drunkenness.
Tracy police responded to 243 calls for service on
Wednesday. The following is a sample of those reports:
2:04 a.m.: Police arrested a man at Save Mart, 2005 North
Tracy Blvd, on a rape warrant.

a.m.: A woman on the 200 block of West 12th Street reported her car
was vandalized when someone scratched “X14” into the paint.
7:21 a.m.: A woman on the 600 block of Larkspur Drive
reported her car was broken into during the night.
7:42 a.m.: A man at West High School, 1775 W. Lowell Ave.,
reported a dark blue Mustang consistently speeding with the driver throwing
garbage out of the window.
9:56 a.m.: A man on the 2200 block of Foothill Ranch Drive
reported two men breaking into a silver Chevy Suburban parked down the street.
10:12 a.m.: Someone on the 1200 block of Claremont Court
reported a man going through people’s garbage.
11:04 a.m.: A woman on the 4400 block of Tropaz Lane
reported people leaving a Jeep in the driveway of a vacant foreclosed house the
night before. She said the tire was now missing off of the Jeep and she felt
the way it was being propped up was unsafe.
11:59 a.m.: Police arrested one man for outstanding warrants
and one for drug possession after pulling them over at 21st Street
and Holly Drive. The man detained for warrants was wanted for illegally
duplicating a state agency key, grand theft and resisting arrest.
12:13 p.m.: A counselor at Valley Community Counseling, 19
E. 6th St., reported a student came to her saying that she was being beaten up
and had been shot at on the way home from school in April.
12:37 p.m.: Someone at West High School, 1775 W. Lowell
Ave., reported a fight in the cafeteria. Brass knuckles were found on the floor
after the scuffle.
1:07 p.m.: A man on the 300 block of Baldwin Lane reported
the theft of both of his license plates.
3:18 p.m.: Police arrested two men on suspicion of drug
possession on Hickory Avenue and Locust Drive.
3:20 p.m.: A man reported several boys walking up to a blue
truck at the stop light at the intersection of Corral Hollow and Grant Line
Roads and hitting the driver.
4:30 p.m.: A woman on the 900 block of Alden Glen Drive
reported her ex-boyfriend calling her house in violation of the restraining
order against him.
4:51 p.m.: Someone at Jack in the Box, 611 Grant Line Road,
reported four teenage boys jumping him and robbing him of his PSP portable
video game player. The suspects were last seen jumping a fence next to the
Driftwood Apartments on 800 W. Grant Line Road.
5:18 p.m.: A woman at Grant Line Road and Tracy Boulevard
reported three of the teenagers who assaulted her son earlier and stole his PSP
were back in the area.
7:01 p.m.: A man at Interstate 205 and MacArthur Drive
reported his 1991 Ford Escort was stolen. He said the car had broken down there
last Monday afternoon and is now missing.
7:03 p.m.: Someone reported eight teenagers drinking alcohol
on the corner of Beechnut Avenue and Sequoia Boulevard.
7:22 p.m.: A man on the 600 block of West Eighth Street
reported his ex-wife refusing to leave his house and slapping him on the face.
7:31 p.m.: A caller at Alden Glen Drive and Sequoia
Boulevard reported a drunken man on a bike who kept falling over and hitting
his head on the concrete.
8:02 p.m.: An employee of Wallie’s Drive-In, 108 E. 11th
St., reported a man threatening to hit her husband in the restaurant.
8:05 p.m.: A woman on the 100 block of Cambria Court
reported seeing a woman being rough with a baby about 30 minutes earlier and
the baby had been crying ever since. She said a small child had died there
several months ago.
8:19 p.m.: Police arrested a man at Motel 6, 3810 N. Tracy
Blvd., on five warrants out of Merced County and one out of Santa Clara with
four out of the six for traffic tickets.
8:20 p.m.: Someone vandalized a car on the 500 block of W.
Beverly Place.
9:11 p.m.: A man on the 600 block of Chestnut Avenue
reported his 16-year-old son refused to allow him out of his room to eat. His
son got on the phone after him and said that his father was drunk and he was
trying to keep him from hurting himself since he could barely walk.
9:17 p.m.: A caller on the 1200 block of Fruitwood Way reported
someone stole plants from the front porch.
9:30 p.m.: A man on Highland and Mae avenues reported
someone stole his 2008 Toyota Sequoia within the last two hours.
10:21 p.m.: Police arrested a man at Carlton Way and Holly
Drive on a petty theft and an unknown warrant.
11:49 p.m.: A woman on the 1700 block of Chartwell Lane
reported kids who live down the street throwing bottles in the street. When the
woman confronted them they threw a bottle at her front door.
