Tracy United Competitive Soccer Club’s under-11 boys Division I Crossfire and under-14 boys Division I Gladiators took first place in their divisions in the 14th annual Tracy Summer Classic, the Scott Wilharm Memorial Tournament, at Tracy Sports Complex and Plasencia Fields. In their first game Saturday against Placer United Prestige, the under-11 Crossfire charged to a 6-0 lead before the end of the first half, and under tournament rules were not allowed to score any more, which forced the team to focus on possession rather than attack. In the second game Saturday, the Crossfire beat the Stockton Rangers, 4-0. On Sunday morning, the Crossfire beat the Central Valley Soccer Academy Cyclones, 4-1, to gain a spot in the championship game against Merced United. The Crossfire won 3-0 for the tournament title.
