Tracy jewelry store owner, abducted at gunpoint, jumps out of car and flags down police; two men and a woman arrested.

More details have been released on the Tracy jeweler who was abducted at gunpoint last week in Manteca.

According to Manteca police spokesman Rex Osborn, Alfonso Ybarra, owner of Ybarra Brothers Jewelry on Tracy Boulevard, agreed to have dinner Thursday in Manteca with a woman from Madera.

At 6:45 p.m., they went to the Comfort Inn in Manteca, and she made a call on her cell phone, Osborn said. Shortly afterward, two men armed with handguns showed up and forced Ybarra to the ground and tied his hands and feet with lamp cords.

The men robbed Ybarra of his personal jewelry and asked him about his store in Tracy. Then about 8 p.m., they forced him into the back seat of his 2005 BMW to take him to his store, Osborn said.

The woman drove, but while at a stoplight at Manteca’s Main Street and Yosemite Avenue, Ybarra spotted a police cruiser and jumped out of the car, flagging down the officer. The suspects fled, with police in pursuit. At one point, two loaded handguns were thrown out, and the BMW collided with another car on Kent Street, police said.

The chase ended in a residential cul-de-sac on Cinnamon Teal Court, where police arrested Diana Teran, 29; Fernando Rubio, 20, of Madera, and Justo Bustos, 26, of Parlier.

Bustos and Rubio were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping for purpose of robbery, armed robbery, armed carjacking and use of a firearm during a serious felony.

Rubio also was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, as one of the guns was reported stolen during a burglary in Yakima, Wash.

Teran was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping for purpose of robbery, armed robbery and armed carjacking. She also was arrested on suspicion of felony evading a peace officer, hit-and-run driving, providing false information to police and driving without a license.

All three suspects are in San Joaquin County Jail without bail and are scheduled to appear Tuesday in the Manteca superior court.

A woman who answered the phone at Ybarras Brothers Jewelry Saturday said Ybarra was not available for comment, and she would not give any information regarding the incident.

Alfonso, quick thinking saved your life- very courageous. We hope you heal soon and that these scum-bag grifters get what's coming to them.
