Tracy United hosts first of two summer tourneys

The Tracy United Revolution under-14 girls soccer team took first place in its division this past week during a weekend-long tournament at the Tracy Sports Complex and Plasencia Fields.

The Revolution was one of four teams that the Tracy United Competitive Soccer Club put up for the tournament, one of two tournaments the club — part of Tracy Youth Soccer League — will host in Tracy this month. In all, 47 teams from Northern California came to Tracy for two days of games in six divisions.

The Tracy United Revolution went undefeated in four games of Division I play. The Revolution beat the Alliance FC Crystals of Union City, 2-0, on Saturday morning and beat Eclipse 95 of El Dorado, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon. The Revolution tied Ajax United Premiere of Modesto, 1-1, on Sunday morning and beat East Diablo Endurance, 2-0, in the championship game.
The Tracy United Dynamite under-13 girls took third place in their division. They won their first game 5-0 on Saturday morning against the Livermore Elite Fury and tied Santa Rosa United Shock, 2-2, on Saturday afternoon. Central Marin Magic beat Tracy, 2-0, on Sunday and Tracy won the contest for third place by forfeit. Santa Rosa beat Central Marin, 2-0, in the championship game.

The Tracy United Triumph came in fourth place in the under-12 Division I tournament with a 1-1 tie against the third-place Sacramento United Spitfires, a 0-2 loss against the second-place Bay Oak Breakerz, a 2-1 win against the Manteca Rangers and 1-2 loss against the first place Bay Oak Blasters.

Tracy United Fusion went 0-2-1 in the under-12 Division III tournament, with a 0-2 loss to division champion Sierra United Gold Rush, a 0-1 loss to the Walnut Creek Raptors and a 2-2 tie against the San Ramon Rush.

The Elk Grove Shock won the under-14 girls Division III tournament, beating the Elk Grove Blaze, 1-0, in the championship game Sunday, and the Merced United Strikers won the under-16 Division III tournament with a 3-0 win over Oakdale United. There were no Tracy teams in those divisions.

The Tracy United Competitive Soccer Club will host its 14th annual Summer Classic, the Scott Wilharm Memorial Tournament, at the Sports Complex and Plasencia Fields on Aug. 16 and 17. Four Tracy teams are among the 36 boys teams in six divisions.
