Investigators say a Tracy man jumped out of a boat to escape sheriff's deputies after two San Jose men were stabbed — one fatally — at Lost Isle on Saturday.

LOST ISLE — A man died Sunday in the hospital after being stabbed with a friend at the Lost Isle Bar and Resort Saturday night, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The other man is still in critical, possibly life-threatening condition.

Authorities believe the attacker to be 31-year-old Javier Jiminez of Tracy, who fled the island in a boat shortly after the fight.

The suspect leaped into the water when he saw deputies closing in.

Deputies called in a Sacramento County helicopter spotlight, a SWAT team and search dogs, but failed that night to track the suspect down.

Joseph Cisneros, 29, was stabbed several times in his upper body. He was flown by helicopter to San Joaquin General Hospital, where he died Sunday.

Ernest Michael Ochoa Jr., 23, is still at Doctor’s Hospital in Modesto, where he’ll undergo surgery today. Both men were from San Jose.

Onlookers reported a third victim, but no one came forward.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to call investigators at 468-4425. To remain anonymous, call Tracy Crimestoppers at 831-6847.

This is really a shocking story. I looked at the website of this resort, and it looks like a very classy, very upscale family fun type of place where they discourage lowlifes and no one would ever get into trouble. I guess this must be just like one of those church shootings that you always read about?

When we used to go about 10 years ago, it was a party place on the delta. Lots of drinking and wet t-shirt contests (I was not there for those!!!!!!). We were a houseboat full of girls and mostly young guys there partying. Not sure what it is like now.

Bar Fann, Do not let appearances fool you. I never knew they had a website so I checked it out and yea, it looks pretty cool. Well here's reality. It is hedonism at it's finest, which is fine with me but..... if you go at the wrong time it can be filled with a bunch of punks. The restrooms are absolutley disgusting. You get a lot of the Stockton low lifes. You get idiots that cannot handle the alcohol they consume and you will see plenty of women with NO self esteem. At least in my party days the girls were a bit of a challenge, go to Lost Isle and body parts flow free and loose. Whats really sad is that this incident does not surprise me at all. Just like the Great Plate, go at the right time and it's fun, go at the wrong time and you better be ready to fight.
