Congressman Jerry McNerney will host a workshop in Manteca for men and women returning from war.

Many young men and women returning home from war don’t realize the benefits they have coming to them from the federal government. Some who truly need assistance never take advantage of these benefits.

That’s why Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, will host a veterans assistance workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in Manteca.

It will feature service providers who can help local veterans file VA claims and obtain or replace their service medals. Information regarding employment and educational opportunities will also be available. 

“The workshop will help veterans in our community learn about and apply for the benefits they have earned,” McNerney said in a press release. The workshop will be at Manteca’s East Union High School, 1700 N. Union Road. For information: 476-8552.
