A caller reported two boys ran after an SUV on 23rd Street and fired two shots Monday afternoon.
A caller reported at 12:17 p.m. Monday that two guys ran
after an SUV and fired two shots at it on the 200 block of West 23rd
Street.
A second caller said the SUV that was shot at was a silver
Ford Explorer occupied by a man and woman, and that a package was sitting in
her front yard, though she didn’t know if the couple dropped it.
The two running after the SUV appeared to be boys, one
wearing all red, the caller said.
Tracy police responded to 180 calls for service on Monday.
The following is a sample of those reports:
6:57 a.m.: A caller on the 1700 block of Groveview Way
reported someone stole an “Obama sign” from the front yard.

drugs at Kingsley Park on the 2100 block of Robert Gabriel Drive. They were
gone when police arrived.
4:41 p.m.: Police arrested someone for shoplifting at
Gottschalks at 3400 Naglee Road. The suspect was cooperative, but apparently
had a criminal record in Georgia that involved forgery and stolen property, and

at Wal-Mart at 3010 W. Grant Line Road.

that was sitting in a cage in the backyard of the caller’s home on the 4600
block of Glenhaven Drive. The caller said he received a letter from one of his
neighbors saying the caller fails to take care of his dogs, and he thinks the
letter might be related to the dog’s disappearance. But it turned out the back
yard gate was left open and the dog might have run off.
6:58 p.m.: A caller reported that a vicious pit bull was on
the loose on the 200 block of East Carlton Way, and that the caller took some
neighbors kids inside her home to protect them. Police returned the dog it its
home.
7:15 p.m.: A caller from In-N-Out Burger at 575 W. Clover
Road reported a fight between four or five people and that one had a knife. One
man apparently assaulted an older man, but the victim told police he was
neither stabbed nor injured, and that the suspects took off in a black Honda
Civic. About 15 minutes later, a caller said one man returned with a gun.
8:38 p.m.: A caller reported someone stole a package from
the front yard on the 1800 block of Plum Lane.
9:18 p.m.: A caller reported a man “staggering around” in
