A gunman stole a heroin-like prescription drug from Longs Drugs on Sunday.

A gunman stole prescription painkillers from the pharmacy in Longs Drugs, 3320 N. Tracy Blvd. Sunday afternoon.

Wielding a small black automatic handgun, the man broke into the back of the pharmacy and nabbed some OxyContin — a high-dose heroin-like painkiller.

The man, whom police described as heavyset, wore a white hat, a white long-sleeved shirt and carried a grey-and-black backpack. He looked to be in his late 20s or early 30s.

As of Monday, police are still searching for the suspect.

A couple employees at work that day said they heard a commotion, but saw very little because it was at the back of the store and the suspect came in through the back door.

One of the pharmacists called police.

The public is encouraged to call Tracy Crimestoppers with any information at 831-6847; the Tracy Police Department at 831-4550; or officer Daniel Pasquale, 831-6528.

Looks like another patron "cued" them in as to the police being called.

If those same pit bulls did it the day before, wouldn't that tell you not to take your dog and cat the next day?

Appears that the boyfriend is trying to get a leg up on his kidnapping skills. Better make room at French Camp.

Probably can't tell time either. "Gee I didn't realize people were sleeping at 06:30 am on Sunday". Seriously what is wrong with people who feel the need to do this? Some people work all week and want to sleep in a bit on the weekend. My neighbor pulls out his gas leaf blower at 7am every weekend, which is the time it is allowed by city ordinances, but that's extremely rude if you ask me. Of course he has a long hard week of sitting in his front yard drinking with his other unemployed buddies, so he needs to get the yard work done early on the weekend so he can relax and sit in his front yard and drink with his buddies.

To All Concerned,

On July 31st, in the Voice Archives (Mad About Neighbors), maybenotdumBcommenT voiced her opinion of our commenting on the Police Blotter/Logs to Decker in a most negative way. I was not shocked to see that maybenotdumBcommenT would stoop to such a low and responded to Decker.

I, for one, will no longer indulge maybenotdumBcommenT with any responses. I will, however, respond to defend myself to whomever she is writing if that writing sullies my reputation.

As always, you can handle this whichever way you see fit.
