A downtown grooming shop offers a cool place for pets and people to kick back.
Decadent Pets has become a cooling center downtown to help people and pets without air conditioning.
It started when we read about a woman in Pleasanton who was turned away from a cooling center because she had her Boston terrier with her. When she was turned away, she drove around for more than five hours to keep cool.
The story really touched our hearts, and we decided to help those who need it. We have transformed our shop to include a play area for the pets and have a seating section with movies playing. We also have cold water and tea from Primrose Lane.
We thought that would be it, but since word has gotten out, we have had several people and business associates drop off even more to help out. We have cookies, lollipops, water and popsicles.
To the people of Tracy, do not be embarrassed. We love you and your animals and want you to be safe and cool. — Jeannie Duckworth, Tracy
