I have said it many times, "Wal-Mart is bad for the workforce. They hire the dregs of humanity so you get very poor service, and the employees cannot even afford their own Wal-Mart health insurance....but I am sure this will be refuted by a liberal in a minute or two.....

I've seen "Wal-Mart: High Cost," and agree with the writer, more people should view the film. Although I believe the film is a few years old and Wal-Mart has begun to make some policy changes, I do not believe they've made 180 degree turn around.

However, when many people are struggling as is the current case in Tracy and many parts of the country, people may care little about what they see in this film. When everyday they must deal with costs going up, they want to shop at a Super Center. It is difficult for them to see beyond today.

People complain in Tracy that they have few choices and that's why the Super Center should be allowed. Ultimately, other stores will close, and thus, we'll have fewer choices.

No disrespect but, who really cares about Wal Marts High Cost documentary. What it comes down too, is that its the decision of the employee's to work there. Whether they have good or bad benefits at least most people living in todays difficult economy, are thankful they have a job. If you don't have to live month to month thats terrific, shop at Macy's. I want to save as much as I can so I am one who shops for the cheapest prices, even if that is in another city. It's unfortunate but there are a lot of companies closing and its not because of Wal-Mart. Maybe the stores that it will have an effect on should think about restructuring so they won't get hit so hard. I work in a small company with a lot of national companies as competition. Sure we have lost some to pricing but then most come back because of our service. There are things you can do to protect your business and now might be the time to explore other possibilities.
