A woman on the 1100 block of Cornucopia Place called at 11:45 a.m. Monday to report that someone cut off the soft top of her convertible Jeep. She said the thief or thieves cleaned out her glove box and swiped a couple of portable compact disc players from the center console. The Tracy Police Department received 206 calls for service on Monday. The following is a sample of those reports: 12:57 a.m.: A woman on the 1400 block of Birch Drive reported hearing someone on the roof and on the side of her house. She said she’s had a previous problem with her neighbor who climbed on her roof to cut tree branches. Police showed up to her front door. 1:27 a.m.: A caller from the 200 block of West 21st Street reported sounds as though someone was on the caller’s roof shooting a BB gun. 7:42 a.m.: Someone stole a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer from Restoration Hardware, 2900 N. MacArthur Drive. 8:52 a.m.: A caller reported someone broke into his rental car at Extended Stay America, 2526 Pavilion Pkwy. A thief smashed the driver’s side window and stole satellite navigation equipment. 9:20 a.m.: Police arrested a woman and booked into San Joaquin County Jail after a caller from Pacific Coast Industries at 4101 Holly Drive embezzled money from the company. 9:57 a.m.: Someone stole $15 worth of cans that were sitting in front of the caller’s home on the 400 block of Beverly Place. 10:06 a.m.: A man reported someone stole the catalytic converter off his car on the 400 block of Glenbriar Circle. 10:17 a.m.: A woman on the 300 block of Cose Lane reported her dog was stuck underneath her hot tub. Firefighters got the dog out. 10:55 a.m.: A caller reported that a man was going to kill her after he complained she cut him off while driving near Safeway at 1801 W. 11th St. 11:19 a.m.: A woman from the 1100 block of Centre Court Drive reported that some of her neighbors harassed workers she hired. 12:40 p.m.: A caller from Ghinggis Kahn Mongolian Barbecue at 3296 W. Grant Line Road reported that someone stole copper wire from air conditioning units. 1:03 p.m.: Police arrested a 39-year-old man after his grandmother reported that he came to her back door and threatened to kill her on the 2300 block of MacArthur Drive. 1:30 p.m.: A caller reported a United Postal Service package was stolen from the front steps of a business on the 400 block of Yosemite Drive. 2:42 p.m.: A woman reported someone stole the purse that she left in a shopping cart at Save Mart at 1901 W. 11th St. 3:33 p.m.: Someone from the Chesapeake Bay Apartments at 2941 W. Lowell Ave. reported that a man exposed himself “several times over the past few years” to the 13-year-old child of the caller. No physical contact was involved. 4:12 p.m.: A woman asked that police check out handprints on her car after a break in on the 100 block of St. Emillion Court. 4:15 p.m.: Someone burglarized a Chevy pickup that was parked at Home Depot, 2461 Naglee Road. 5:32 p.m.: A man from the 200 block of East 21st Street tried to turn in paraphernalia that his wife used for heroin at a fire station. Firefighters told him to call police. 6:02 p.m.: A caller reported a man knocked on the door of the caller’s home on the 3700 block of Newbury Drive to ask for a branch from the caller’s back yard. The caller said the guy was looking inside the home, and police reported a caller earlier in the day reported the guy did the same thing on Constitution Way. 6:05 p.m.: A caller reported about seven teenagers blocking the road at Belconte and Redington drives. The caller said they appeared to be fighting. 6:09 p.m.: A caller reported two guys hired by the caller’s father were harassing the father on the 2500 block of Tennis Lane. One of the men told police he was hired to drive for the man but was never paid. 6:33 p.m.: A caller reported neighbors’ kids keep jumping over the caller’s fence and damaging it on the 1400 block of Heatherfield Court. The kids’ parents refuse to do anything about, the caller reported, and said that a 14-year-old neighbor just asked his friend for a gun. 7:37 p.m.: A man reported someone broke the rear window of his car on the 1800 block of East Street but stole nothing. 8:28 p.m.: A caller reported two black dogs running loose on the 1300 block of Eastlake Circle, and one of them was chasing a kid. 8:42 p.m.: A caller reported people racing on motorcycles on the 2700 block of Almanor Drive. 9:05 p.m.: A caller on the 100 block of East Eaton Avenue reported a man camping out in Lincoln Park behind the Tracy Branch Library. 10:11 p.m.: A caller from Harbor Rail Services at 1399 N. Chrisman Road reported that someone knocked over a pole and severed a power line. This column includes a sampling of items as reported in the Tracy Police Department dispatcher’s daily log.
