It’s a sure thing that a Tracy Junior team will take home the Little League District 67 pennant.
![]() Tracy Junior National’s Justin King shut down Salida’s batters to start off Sunday’s 21-2 win. He and his teammates will face Tracy Junior American today and possibly tomorrow for the District 67 championship. Bob Brownne/Tracy Press But it’s yet to be decided is which team will win the top honor and move on to the Northern California Section 3 tournament next week. At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Tracy Junior American All-Stars and Tracy Junior National All-Stars will face off in the championship game at Sierra High School in Manteca. Tracy American is undefeated so far in the tournament, clinching its place in the championship game with a 14-1 win over Spreckels Park on Sunday. Spreckels Park beat Tracy National last week, but the local team came back to win three games straight, including a 21-2 rout against Salida on Sunday and a 6-3 win over Spreckels on Monday. If Tracy National wins on Tuesday, it will force another game Wednesday to determine the champion. Tracy National Manager Mike Loscavio said his team needed some strong pitching to pull out Monday’s win over Spreckels. Jonah Wesely held Spreckels to two runs in three innings, while Tracy National batters scored four times. Loscavio said he pulled Wesely from the game because of Little League’s pitch-count rules, which would have prohibited him from pitching Tuesday if he faced any more batters. Reilly Oki came in to finish the game and pitched four innings with seven strikeouts, giving up only one run. Matt Loscavio smacked a two-run base hit in the sixth to give his team a more comfortable lead. Spreckels loaded the bases in the seventh, but with the tying run at first and the winning run at the plate, Oki ended the game with a strikeout. Tracy Junior American Manager Mark Scornaienchi said his team executed well at the plate and on the bases to get a six-run rally going in the second inning and another in an eight-run third inning to claim the 14-1 win Sunday. Pitcher Spencer Freeman kept Spreckels hitless through three innings and allowed two hits in the fourth, when Spreckels scored its only run. Cody Daniel was Tracy American’s big hitter, going 3-for-4, including a double and a sacrifice grounder. In Tracy National’s 21-2 win over Salida on Sunday, pitcher Justin King started the team off by putting away the first nine batters he faced. Tracy’s offense got 10 hits, including doubles from Matt Loscavio, Eddy Lopez and Wesely, and took advantage of walks and Salida’s errors to move runners around. Seven of Tracy’s runs were scored on wild pitches or passed balls.
