With temperatures soaring into the triple digits, Tracy will open the Lolly Hansen Senior Center on Tuesday so people will have an air-conditioned spot to cool down. The center will stay open until 10 p.m. Tuesday the temperature is expected to reach more than 105 degrees. Firefighters will occasionally drop by to make sure no one is suffering from being too hot. The city opens up the senior center when temperatures reach at least 100 degrees two days in a row. For information: 831-4230.

With the temperatures rising this week I would hope that the TFD is out patrolling alongside TPD looking for people who may be affected by the heat, who have no alternative but to walk to the store, dr's app'ts, etc. Heat stroke can affect everyone.
