Jason Gilbert of Pleasanton is the points leader in the Western Late Models going into today’s 100-lap race and is averaging a fifth-place finish in the seven WLM races so far this season.
The competition includes Jason Fensler of Modesto, Big Dog Series points leader Bobby Hodges of Carson City, Nev., Wes Miller of Turlock, former Irwindale champion James Weston of Goleta and 2007 Rookie of the Year Doff Cooksey of Brentwood, who took his first WLM win of the year June 8 at Altamont.
The field also includes Guy Guibor, second in the WLM standings, and Tim Spurgeon of Danville, third in the WLM standings and winner of the first Tri-Holiday race on Memorial Day weekend.
The Flashco SRL Southwest Tour 100 will include points leader Jim Pettit of Prunedale, with Craig Raudman of Cottonwood in second place entering today’s races. Greg Voigt of Goleta, Troy Ermish of Fremont and 2004 Altamont track champion Todd Bammer of Pleasanton round out the top five in points. The American Limited Stock Car class will also race on the half-mile oval, Future Champions Development Series Late Models racing will take place on the quarter-mile, and Formula-4’s will race on the 1.1-mile road course.
